10 Things Every Cat Parent Can Relate To February 25 2020, 23 Comments

If you're a cat owner, you know that cats are the best pets you can own. Cats give us a lot of love, affection, companionship, and are generally amazing creatures. But they're also a handful! Four AM hallway races that wake us up, bringing us tiny dead animals as "gifts", and shoving their butts in our faces ... the list goes on. If you're a cat parent, chances are you can relate to at least one of those! Here are 10 all-too-relatable Tweets and posts for cat lovers.
1. That cats are basically like tiny, trash-eating goblins.
2. And that landlords have an unjust bias against pet owners:
3. And of course, the inevitable sleeping cat trap:
4. And vice versa, the TUMMY RUB TRAP:
5. The eternal cat hair dilemma:
6. Having to deal with the Judgmental Stare:
7. But don't forget the perks of owning a cat: protecting from spooky things!
8. Every cat owner has had to deal with a passive-aggressive feline at some point.
9. But more importantly, we've all used our cats as cup holders at least once.
10. And of course, getting to experience the amusing randomness that is the "POST-POOP ZOOMIES"

I love it! This is exactly the home life with cats. We have 12 of our own…and foster a few for the local shelter. We love them all…the cuddlers…the crazies…the eternally/infernally curious. ☺❤

Cheryl,
What is your problem? I just found this but it sure looks like a site for people who love their fur babies. Are you just having a bad day or what?

SO true! And in my case it’s 14 times that as I live with 14 cats. I get a lot of butt in the face action every day!

I am a dog and cat person! My cats have been so affectionate and funny!!! It depends on how you raise them. We have had to put two cats down within the last year and made me so heartbroken. They were so different but we have had them since they were kittens. One used to go for walks with us everywhere. He was never on a leash and always stayed right with us. He even tried to get on the bus with my son once. He was amazing and affectionate!!! The other was just a cuddler. He would slip his paw in between me and my husband and keep doing that until we moved apart and he would cuddle right in between us. Both were my little babies!!! We have always had kittens or cats since my husband and I moved in together before we were married in 1993. The ones we had as kittens were the most affectionate because they were raised that way. Cats and dogs can be a lot alike. I just think it depends on how you raise them!!! Cats need cuddles too!!!! The ones that act like they don’t want to be cuddled are the ones that weren’t cuddled since they were babies!!!!

This is so true. I, personally, have never been a cat person. Dogs, on the other hand, are obsessed with me. This all changed the day my wife and daughter plopped this messy little furball in my lap. He was little, his fur was wild as hell, and he definitely loved snuggles. I named him Tensa Zangetsu. He decided that, although I wasn’t a cat person, I was gonna be a Cat’s person. Now i have 8 of the little furry bastards. I love them all. Zangetsu is sitting here in my lap as I write this, with his silent worship, his demand for love, and his absolute devotion. I can’t believe I been missing out.

I dearly love all Felions , whether they are the kind you can pet at home, or their bigger cousins that live in the wild or you can still visit in Zoos.
I hear all this interesting stuff about domestic housecat Parents.
I’ve done volunteer work in three facilities for stray and homeless pets. Cats and dogs, more successfully with cats. You don’t have to walk them. Just make sure some poor kitty doesn’t escape from his/her kennel and make a run for it.

I agree with all of these. There’s a purring fur baby lying on me as I type this.

Anne Boutilier You have a very negative outlook on something that’s just simply meant to be cute and make you smile. I’m sorry for your loss, truly I am. I recently lost a fur baby too but your reaction is unjustified and ruthless towards an innocent post. I understand ur angry but you need to think about why it is your lashing out at someone. The world is not solely yours. It doesn’t revolve around you or your emotions. Grow up, grieve for your lost one like a normal person, and be nice to people who are just enjoying the beautiful things that come along with owning a cat. Remember the good things, don’t be so mean

Cheryl Dubbelman, you posted this odd bit of garbage the day before I had to put my darling boy down. It is now a week later, and I’m still heartbroken.
Then I come across your nonsense. What made you do that? Why spew such toxins? Talking about your wonderful friend is more than welcome, and enjoyed. The other, TOTALLY UNNECESSARY!!! 🤨

uh, Cheryl Dubbelman… this IS their self. THEIR website. you came here deliberately, so you are actually the only one who needs to “keep your stupid comments to your self [sic].” and just remember: if you were dead, your lovely cat would most certainly eat your nose. I know mine would. and yeah, the butthole on the face gets told to Pippin every.damn.night. he’s such a doll. asshole, but a doll.

Ohhh my Lord!!
I am the mother of 5 cat chidrinz, ……& I have been sitting here dying laughing, reading each one of these on the list because they have all happened to me at one time or another.
My 5 are all rescue cats from my backyard or the local shelter. I have 3 ( A mama kitty that we call “ MK”, her son Pepper, his sister Scout, & 2 others — They are ALL our Hearts!! I have a yellow tabby Mountain spotted tiger lion he is the love of my life and if he doesn’t love to chew up a good piece of plastic like Holly mentioned, I’m not sitting here, SMH !!!! HE LOVES ALL THINGS PLASTIC—> even though he knows ( but forgets) that after he eats them, that he ALWAYS THROWS UP!!!—>> He’s got a good memory,> but it’s short. And we have a little two-year-old black girl who wandered into the back yard several years ago and came up on our back deck/porch ,that we rescued and had spayed, and she has some slight feral, neurotic tendencies, but my husband has fallen in love with her, so we try to overlook her shortcomings..🤭🥴😂…..
Like Amanda mentioned above, about hers being “ her favorite little devil in the universe”…→> That pretty much sums up how WE feel about our little angels!! They fill our lives with so much joy and happiness , I can’t imagine our lives without them, especially since we never wanted two legged children… We much prefer these spectacular little creatures we have now , & they ALL have our ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ & don’t know what we would do without them…..

Re. Your website stinks? Where did that come from? Anyways 2 cats 2 personalities the stuffy dont hold me princess. And the beastly lazy. Laid back throw me over your shoulder lover.
Amanda on February 29 2020 at 10:36AM
I have experienced every one of these occurrences as a cat parent at least once. I especially relate to the butthole i. The face thing! My biggest pet peeve with my cat is his insistence that everyone be up by no later than 6 am, regardless of what day of the week it is. He will yowl and yowl until everyone is up and agitated. He is my favorite little devil in the whole universe!
ramirezelgato on February 28 2020 at 09:42PM
Cheryl Dubbelman, are you nervous? Poor animal to have to live with someone like you. Not even having a lovely cat whom you dearly loovee could improve your horrible character.

My husband and I have 9 little rescue kitties. One is a 4 month old terrorist that I threaten to send to Isis to teach them a lesson. But, he is entertaining. All of the others just shake their heads at him. All are good babies and one of my fondest days was when my husband stood in the kitchen and said “I love all of our cats so much!” It made me love him so much more.
Helen on February 28 2020 at 02:07PM
We have 6 cats, all rescue. They are indoor/outdoor and come and go as they please. They are all very spoiled. We have 2 rescue pups, and they all get along pretty well. (Giving each other baths, etc.)

We don’t “own” a family member or any other sentient Being. Pets are family.

I am a proud owner of 4 Cats. They are indoor only so they have made the house their “Fun House”. They all take turns being on our laps, remind us when it’s time to feed them. They can be clowns, drama queens, you name it, they are Cats thru and thru but we love them all regardless. We started out with one Cat but eventually ended up with four. Our lives would be so empty without them!
