Supportive Cat Dad Won't Leave Mom's Side as their Kittens are Born

This cat wins Father of the Year!

The ushering in of new life is a joyful, stressful time. It goes without saying that mothers bear the brunt of the responsibilities in the "giving birth” department; But what about the dads?

Thanks to Hollywood, I always picture a woozy-looking father not knowing what to do or where to stand, awkwardly holding a container of ice chips. But this cat dad has got it all in hand – er, paw.

This expectant father knew exactly what to do.

The confident, caring father stayed by the mother’s side throughout the whole birthing process, encouraging her every step of the way.

Until, at last, they welcomed four healthy kittens into the world.

This might be the sweetest family portrait of all time.

He even watched over their new babies while mom got some much-needed rest...

It’s clear this new mom will have the support and help she needs keeping up with the four new bundles of furry joy.

If this doesn’t say "family," we don’t know what does.

While this loving family is cute as all get out, remember that it’s important to spay and neuter your pets if you don't intend to breed them. June is kitten season, and shelters all over the country are flooded with kittens (and adult cats) who are looking for their forever homes

Spaying and neutering your cats, especially female cats prior to their first heat, can have impactful health benefits that lead to a longer, healthier life for your beloved kitty. It also helps to reduce the number of homeless cats in need of love and care.

My male cat did the same exact thing! He was so helpful to my sweet girl in labor! And even got some kisses in with his babies after…. Never seen anything like this before with a male cat! Blessed he responded this well!

I’m firmly for cats and dogs being neutered/spayed, but I have to tell you, I won’t be deleting this story from my computer. It’s so wonderful. I’ve had three yellow tom cats over the years and they all had wonderful temperaments.

Spaying a female cat prior to her first heat is important in preventing development of breast cancer according to several of my vets. Breast cancer risk increases the more often a female cat goes into heat without being spayed and without having become pregnant.

Spay to reduce the number of homeless cats and to reduce the risk of breast cancer.

Very sweet and lovely little family , we had a male and female cat that had the same loving family relatationship after their weekend together we had the male Neko neutered and when the female Tora had her kittens he was a loving father and great help for the mom . It is true most males will harmkittens we think that having the male neutered before their birth helped him accept and not harm kittens . ?
Enjoy all the shared kat stories . ?
