Breaking The “Crazy Cat Lady” Stereotype With Photos of Dudes Cuddling Their Cats

Crazy cat ladies out there, don't worry. Despite what modern media would want you to believe, there is such thing as a crazy cat guy, too! Meet Photographer David Williams! His project titled Men With Cats began in 2009 as a way to break the stereotype of the “crazy cat lady.” Williams photographs average, everyday dudes in their homes, surrounded by the felines that have stolen their hearts. His project is now also a book, Men With Cats, which features more in-depth profiles of the men and the cats they love.

The documentary-style photos not only capture the special bonds these men have with their fluffy soulmates, but they also capture the environments in which they live, giving us viewers a glimpse into lives outside our own.

His subjects represent a cross-section of American society, ranging from musicians and artists, soldiers and CEOs to truck drivers and tattoo artists. “I wanted to show that regardless of gender, many people have found the joy that cat companionship can bring,” Williams tells Time Out New York

This photo series proves that cat lovers come in all shapes, sizes, and genders.
