A cat and a pony are best friends. It is literally every 13-year-old girl's dream.
Cats aren't always seen as the friendliest creatures. They're painted as aloof, independent balls of fluff who couldn't care less about anyone or anything that isn't food. Cat lovers know this isn't true - cats just tend to show affection and friendship in their own feline way.
Folks who are decidedly not cat people should know that cats can be - and are - quite friendly. They are some of the friendliest creatures around! In fact, they can strike up some pretty unusual friendships.
Take Louis and Comet, for example. Louis is a cat, Comet is a pony; But they're not letting their differences get in the way of true friendship!
Emma Massingale is a professional horse trainer and owner to both Comet and Louis. When Massingale first adopted Louis, then a tiny Siamese, she didn't imagine that he'd soon be best friends with her ponies.
"Louis started off just following me to the stable and walking along the walls or fences nudging the horses with his head," Massingale told LoveMeow. "Then he started to jump on their backs and sit there or jump on and then off the other side to get somewhere."
And it wasn't long before Comet took the hint and started taking Louis on rides around the farm.
The 6-year-old feline equestrian is entirely at ease when he's in the saddle. He'll sit atop his dappled mount and sniff the fresh air and relish in the scenery.
And in perfect cat fashion, Louis knows that he's in charge. "Comet and Louis seem to be a good combo. If [Louis] wants the horse to stop, he bites the pony's mane. It's crazy but funny to watch," Massingale said. "If Louis gets bored, he just jumps off. But he seems to love it as he stays up there for ages."
Here the two are captured crossing a stream together as they explore the forest around the farm.
