50 Names For Cats With Tortitude

From their mosaic fur coats of orange and black to their association with good luck, it’s safe to say that tortoiseshell cats are one of the most colorful cats to share your home with. Torties are also known for their colorful personalities, affectionately called "tortitude". And if you’re welcoming a new tortie cat into your family and home--congratulations on your new best friend! Now it’s time to give your newest furry family member a name.

Because the vast majority of tortoiseshell cats are female (only 1 in every 3,000 calicos are male), the names we’ve selected lean that way. But we’ve also included names for the rare male Tortie and names that can be used for both male or female!

My torite is about three months old and I’m looking for a name for her. She is beautiful. I don’t think I have ever seen a tortie before. Her mother is feral and she brought the kittens to me to be fed. She is now separated from Mama Hissy as Mama has already had a new litter. She is just now coming to me to be petted at feeding time. I hope to fix them all, and care for them.

Am just getting to know my Sweet Peachie. She is beautiful. Talks a lot which I love, along with everything else about her. About 5 yrs old. Her people mother was too ill to keep her any longer. Yes she does have an attitude. And I’ve had to do some blockage to keep her out of places she simply can’t safely be. She is indoor cat. Sleeps with me. Tells me when to do things as clean litter box (it must not have anything in it except litter) when she wants to eat, etc. I have a pet stroller and we go for a walk nearly every day. I’ve noticed she takes her time at anything new and makes her decision of whether she accepts. A good trait I think. We have long conversations. I love her to bits.
