Who's Training Who?

They say training a cat takes patience. But ask any cat parent, and you might discover that the training is already complete. The cat is simply waiting for the human to catch on.

A perfectly trained human

Today's Milton the Cat comic features a quote attributed to Bill Dana: “I had been told that the training procedure with cats was difficult. It's not. Mine had me trained in two days.”

With their human pouring out the treats, Milton and Millie seem to have the whole arrangement figured out. Sit sweetly, look adorable, and let the snacks come to you. Why learn a trick when being a cat is already so rewarding?

If you've ever opened a cupboard because your cat stared at it, moved over to make room for a nap, or served dinner after one particularly convincing meow, congratulations. Your training is going beautifully.
